Women’s Suffrage Society Commemoration

On Saturday, December 15th a blue plaque was unveiled in Clifton to commemorate the first meeting of the Bristol and West of England Society for Women's Suffrage. The Society was founded by Florence Davenport Hill who lived in what is now 3 West Mall where the plaque has been placed. The unveiling was attended by Thangam Debbonaire, MP, and there were additional speeches by local historian, Lucienne Boyce, and by Lori Streich of the Bristol Civic Society and Vlue Plaque Scheme.
